Childhood obesity is an increasing problem in the United States. Foot & Ankle Associates of Florida joins the APMA (American Podiatric Medical Association) during the month of April in its effort to combat childhood obesity through foot healh education. In step with the national "Let's Move!" campaign launched by First Lady Michelle Obama, APMA endeavors to show the connection between childhood obesity and foot health. Keeping your child moving pain-free in addition to a good diet and routine exercise can help combat this growing problem. Keep her/him "moving" by being sure she/he has shoes that fit properly, wears the correct footwear for each activity engaged in, and address foot pain of any kind by taking her/him to an APMA member podiatrist if problems are present.
