From time to time, my patients complain about night time foot cramps. These are occasional discomforts and are usually easy to fix. Most often, the cause is an electrolyte imbalance or side effects from medications they are taking. Usually drinking some Gatorade, (sugar-free for diabetic patients) or some quinine water does the trick. If that does not work and the night foot cramps continue, schedule an appointment with your doctor.
